Weed Control

Weed control is a problem for any lawn.

There are several approaches to dealing with weeds naturally.

I'm not a fan of herbicides, so I'm not going to talk about them in this article, but they do kill weeds.

One of the best ways to keep weeds at bay which most people don't know is to mow the lawn as high as possible. A lot of weeds need sunlight to germinate their seeds and mowing your grass higher can help prevent that happening.

When you irrigate, make sure you do a really good job. Frequent irrigation actually encourages weeds to grow.

Mowing often can help slow weed growth. By only cutting the first third of the grass tip off when you mow, you are not disturbing the soil as much as when you cut down low.
